Established in 2018, Anderson Swan Hunter Ltd (ASH) set up as and Environmental Consultancy and Auditing Service to provide expert advice to those who want to achieve sustainable business practices.
The consultancy was formed by three former Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) regulators who have 60 years combined experience of protecting and enhancing Scotland's Environment at local and strategic levels.
Combined they bring knowledge of environmental planning, compliance and licensing processes and have extensive experience of interpreting legal requirements, writing best practice guidance and training staff on environmental procedures.
To compliment their environmental credentials, they have invested in ISO 9001 (2015) Lead Auditor and NEBOSH Health & Safety qualifications.

Lynne Anderson is a Chartered Environmentalist with extensive experience of environmental regulation and the Scottish Planning System, gained while working for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency in a variety of roles over a 15 year period.
Lynne's background in regulation was an ideal base of knowledge to assess EIAs, SEAs and other technical documents supporting development proposals. Lynne's knowledge and experience also allowed her to advise the Scottish Government on Section 36/37 Electricity Act applications, as well as secure SEPA's interests in Strategic and Local Development Plans, particularly with regard to sustainability.
Lynne is a qualified Quality Management Lead Auditor (ISO 9001:2015).
Lynne is a confident, enthusiastic, approachable communicator with the ability to influence decision making, backed up by strong administrative and organisational skills.
These skills have been especially useful in parliamentary and Local Authority roles held. Lynne has experience in training, mentoring, coaching and managing people.
Eleanor Swan is ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualified and an IOSH member with a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety. This complements her 27 years of audit and inspection experience working for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).
Eleanor is recognised as a lead specialist for delivery of technical training on environmental licensing and compliance systems. She was involved in the implementation of high level environmental strategy and legislative change. She was routinely responsible for auditing environmental regulatory systems to ensure compliance with legislation and KPI's. She worked with various SEPA departments to generate annual subsistence invoices for issue to Licence Holders.
Her experience means that she has been invited to work on the development and implementation of environmental licensing systems with other departments and countries such as the Scottish Government, Environment Agency (England), Environment Protection Agency (EIRE) and the Kosovo Ministry of Environment.
Eleanor is keen to promote and support women in business and is a member of ENGENDER and West Lothian Women in Business Steering Group.
Susan Hunter has worked to protect, regulate and enhance the environment since 1998 when she gained a Post Graduate Distinction for Environmental Management and was awarded associated membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
She spent 18 years as an environmental regulator with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) working in Environment Protection and Improvement and later in Regulatory Development, Innovation and Implementation.
This means that Susan has acquired a range of skills from Environmental Management to compliance strategy and policy. She has experience working with a range of sectors and with various levels of management and has worked collaboratively with the Scottish Government to undertake stakeholder engagement of environmental policy and guidance.
Her knowledge and experience means that she has been able to represent Scotland in Europe and present at European conferences as a subject matter specialist.
Working collaboratively with others to create European Environmental Policy relating to the use of Environmental Management Systems in Environmental Regulation means that Susan has a strategic view of Management Systems such as ISO 14001 and EMAS which compliments her ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualifications.
Susan is passionate about circular economy, resource efficiency and waste minimisation, so much so that she founded Edge of Eden Design Studio Ltd to work in partnership with others to create products from waste materials.
